Spanish Courses at Estudio Sampere

Estudio Sampere, one of the oldest and best known Spanish language schools in Spain, has four schools in Spain located in: Madrid, Salamanca, Puerto de Santa Maria and as of 2000 a new school in Alicante. Courses are conducted in the same fashion at each place, following the same curriculum and using the same materials making it possible to combine courses at any of their locations (perfect for those looking for variety of locations without detriment to their language learning!).

ALICANTE

Alicante, with a population of 284,000 inhabitants, is known as the pearl of the Mediterranean. It enjoys a wonderful climate year round with splendid beaches that earn the Blue Flag Award from the European Community every year. The famous Postiguet beach is in the very center of town. The area, inhabited well before Roman times, is of vital importance in the modern economy of Spain. Famous leisure destinations such as Campello, San Juan, Tabarca and Ibiza are located within easy reach of Alicante. The international airport enjoys frequent service to most mayor European capitals, while daily train service connects it easily with Madrid and Barcelona. Alicante offers the advantages of a medium-sized city with a varied cultural life, a young and dynamic university and a booming economy and at the same time a relaxed beach town atmosphere. Century old traditions like the San Juan festivities and the "Moors and Christians" celebrations (a revival of the "Reconquista" battles) continue to be celebrated in Alicante every year, adding to the multi-faceted flavor of this seaside city.

Estudio Sampere is a well-known Spanish language center established in 1956. It is also a founding member of IALC (International Association of Language Centers), a member of various chambers of commerce, and it has received the CEELE seal of approval through the University of Alcala. It is also an Accredited Center of Instituto Cervantes. Their school in Alicante is located in the center of Alicante, across from the "Teatro Principal. The famous Postiguet beach is just five minutes walking distance from the school. It occupies two floors of a newly constructed three story building. It has seven well-lit air conditioned classrooms, a common area, a library and a video room. The old town and the majestic "Ayuntamiento" are located less than five minutes away.

Accommodation Prices 2008

Accommodations are available in selected host families, shared apartments with other students, studio apartments and hotels. Host family prices include laundry once per week. Half board includes breakfast and dinner from Monday to Friday and all meals on weekends.
