French Courses at Ecole France Langue Nice

The France Langue French Language School is located ten minutes walking distance form the Promenade des Anglais and very close to one the largest shopping areas of town. Excellent public transportation is available from the school, and the SCNF train station is less than a ten minute walk offering regular service to other coastal cities like Monaco or Cannes 30 minutes away.  Classrooms are bright and comfortable and air-conditioned.  Additionally this French language school has a large combination French language-lab/computer/audio-visual room which is available for student use, a common room/cafeteria and an outdoor patio provide students with a place to relax and socialize during breaks or before and after class.  Special programs are also offered in Nice such as: Refresher French Course for French Language Teachers, French Language courses for Senior Citizens and a French Language and Cuisine course (scroll down for details!).

Notes:  Minimum age: 17.  All prices for French Courses listed below include: number of French language lessons as listed, most guided tours of Paris organized by the school (entrance fees to museums are not included), free-access teacher supervised media lab, internet access via school's PC (max. connection time of 20 minute per day), free unlimited WI-FI access.  Books are not included and must be purchased at a local book store. Price: approximately USD 45.

Standard French Language Course --- 20 French lessons per week (15 hours per week), maximum of 12 students per class. Course is divided into two periods each day, with a break between sessions taught by two different teachers.  Morning schedules (Tuesday-Friday), afternoon schedules (Monday-Friday), and evening schedules (Mon-Fri) are available - while placement on a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed, student preferences will be taken into consideration. Prices:   2 weeks: USD 590.   3 weeks: USD 865.   4 weeks: USD 1,140.   8 weeks: 2,180.  12 weeks**: USD 3,165.

Intensive French Language Course --- 30 lessons per week (22 1/2 hours per week), maximum of 12 students per class. Course is divided into two sections each day, with a break between sessions taught by two different teachers. 1 week: USD 460.   2 weeks: USD 878.   3 weeks: USD 1,295.  4 weeks: USD 1,720.   8 weeks:  USD 3,270.  12 weeks**: USD 4,775.

NEW PROGRAM!:  Super Intensive French - (Standard French Course Plus One-on-One) --- 25 French lessons per week.  Course is divided into two sections each day, with a break between sessions and taught by different teachers. First session is composed of the Standard French Course (20 group lessons, see above), second session consists of 5 one-to-one French lessons per week.   Prices:  1 week: USD 680.  2 wks: USD 1,320.   3 wks: USD 1,960.  4 wks: USD 2,595.

Civilization: A French civilization course is taught every week for 1 1/2 hours and is open, free of charge, to all intensive course students. It focuses on noteworthy events in the history of Paris and aspects of contemporary French life and art. In conjunction with this course, a walk, or a museum or landmark tour, is organized once a week in the company of one of the teachers.

SPECIAL FRENCH LANGUAGE COURSES:

NEW PROGRAM!:  Long Term Standard French Language Course --- Special pricing offered for long term trimester programs on specific dates!. 20 French lessons per week (15 hours per week), maximum of 12 students per class. Morning (Tuesday-Friday), afternoon (Monday-Friday), and evening schedules (Mon-Fri) are available - while placement on a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed, student preferences will be taken into consideration. Prices: 12 wks: USD 1,955.  24 weeks:  USD 3,590.  36 weeks: USD 5,110.  48 weeks:  USD 6,660.
Starting dates for Long Term Trimester programs:  5 January, 30 March, 29 June, 28 September.  

NEW PROGRAM!:  Long Term Intensive French Language Course --- Special pricing offered for long term trimester programs on specific dates!. 30 French lessons per week (22.5 hours per week), maximum of 12 students per class. Morning (Tuesday-Friday), afternoon (Monday-Friday), and evening schedules (Mon-Fri) are available - while placement on a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed, student preferences will be taken into consideration. Prices: 12 wks: USD 2,895.  24 weeks:  USD 5,326.  36 weeks: USD 7,620.  48 weeks: USD 9,920.

One-to-One French Lessons:  Private lessons are available at USD 75 per hour plus USD 42 registration fee. (10 hour per week minimum booking).  One-to-one French lessons can start any Monday.

French Teachers Training Course:   30 lessons per week, specifically designed for Teachers of French as a Foreign Language.   French civilization and culture are the basis of this training program which explores the subtleties of present day French language, classroom strategies and dynamics. It enables French teachers to broaden and update their classroom methods.   An optional cultural program (tours and lectures) permits to discover the French way of living and local cultureSubjects include : language practice, strategy and teaching methods in the classroom, and theatre adapted to teaching French as a foreign language. Advanced level required!.    2 week course: USD 865.   Starting dates 2009: 6 July and 3 August.

French Language and Cuisine!: Using local seasonal produce bought in open markets students learn how to make typical French dishes, assimilate everyday expressions and new vocabulary. For all levels in French!  Shop in open markets while using French and dealing with the French people. Prepare the recipe of the day, specially selected to be easily made again when back home and enjoy the meals you make!.   Course can be combined with any French Language course listed above. 8 lessons per week (2 half day sessions), in groups of 4 to 6 students. Price 2009:  USD 265 per week. Starting dates:  Any Monday from 5 January 2009 to 7 August 2009 and from 31 August 2009 too 18 December 2009.  (MUST be taken in conjunction with the Standard French Language course).

NEW PROGRAM (please note that this program has changed for 2009, it can now be booked as a one week or a two week course!):   Third Age Program - French Language Program for Seniors (50+): A great program for Seniors to refresh and improve their French language skills in a relaxed atmosphere while experiencing life in the French Cote D'Azur: visit places of cultural and historical interest, enjoy Provencal "art de vivre" cuisine, the wine, the perfumes, the villages and the art of Matisse and Picasso. The 1 week French Language Program includes 20 French language lessons plus excursions and activities (each lesson is 45  minutes long), as well as accommodations in a host family with half-board (2 meals per day).  Starting dates 2009:  27 September.  Limited space available, application deadline is 30 days prior to the start of each course. Levels: Elementary to Proficiency, NO beginners.  Price 2009:  1 week course: USD 690.00,  2 week course:  USD 1,120.00

Activities:  A full program of activities is offered every week. Most guided tours arranged by the school are offered free of charge (entrance fees if applicable are the responsibility of the student).  Excursions, opera, theatre and concert tickets are optional and offered at additional cost.
